Certification of Designated Person for Category S, SB, M & Non-Category Laboratories

The College is offering an assessment of non-pathologists, to allow appropriate supervision of Category S, Category SB, Category M and Non-Category laboratories, in accordance with the Requirements for the Supervision in the Clinical Governance of Medical Pathology Laboratories (Sixth Edition, 2021). Specialist Medical Practitioners who are not Pathologists with relevant qualifications or skills and with a current scope of practice, who will become the Designated Person and who will be responsible for the clinical governance of the laboratory are encouraged to contact the College at genomicsupervision@rcpa.edu.au for further information.
