RCPA: President communication re: Pathology Update 2020
12 March, 2020

Dear Pathology Update 2020 Exhibitors, Sponsors and Delegates,
As you are likely aware, the World Health Organisation has now labelled the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. In conjunction with concern from our fellows and trainees regarding the personal and professional risks of Pathology Update 2020 staying as a face-to-face meeting and recognising the vital role members of the Pathology profession have to play in the provision of high quality health care at this time, the RCPA Board of Directors has decided Pathology Update will become a virtual meeting. Over the coming days, delegates will receive a personal link to live stream in real-time into the Pathology Update 2020 sessions.
Speakers will be contacted individually regarding speaking arrangements.
The Awards Ceremony, unfortunately, will have to be cancelled and all new Fellows and Award Recipients will be invited to attend the 2021 Awards Ceremony
The Advisory Committee meetings will be conducted via teleconference and will continue at the scheduled time.
The frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) is below. Could I strongly urge you to review these FAQ’s to prepare for Pathology Update 2020.
A significant amount of planning goes into delivering a conference of this standing. The decision to move to a virtual meeting has not been made lightly, and we appreciate your support during this challenging time.
Kind regards,
Michael Dray
