Thank you for considering making a bequest (a gift in your will) to the RCPA Foundation.
Please note that it is a requirement of the RCPA Foundation that all donations and gifts received by the RCPA Foundation are used for educational or research purposes.
A bequest can take many forms. For example, you may choose to give the whole of your estate, a percentage of your estate, a residual gift (the remainder of your estate after providing for loved ones), a specified dollar amount, or certain assets such as real estate, shares, artwork, or jewellery.
We have prepared the wording below to assist in preparing your will. Please note this is suggested wording. It is not a substitute for legal advice and should be tailored by a qualified legal professional taking into account your circumstances and wishes. Additionally, it is important to talk to your family and loved ones about your will and to let them know that leaving a gift to the RCPA Foundation is important to you, as it can help to ensure your final wishes are carried out.
Suggested wording for your will:
"I give to The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia ABN 52 000 173 231
- the whole of my estate OR
- [insert percentage] percent of my residuary estate OR
- the residue of my estate OR
- the sum of $[insert sum] OR
- [list certain asset(s)];
to be applied for the purposes of education and research by the RCPA Foundation, free of all duties. I declare that the receipt of a director of The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or other authorised officer will be a sufficient discharge to my executor(s) or trustee.”
