Training in Clinical Forensic Medicine
The RCPA offers a training program in Clinical Forensic Medicine leading to Fellowship of the Faculty for registered medical practitioners who have completed at least three years postgraduate clinical work.
Applicants must be employed in a supervised training position at an RCPA accredited site. Applications are via Initial Registration.
The program will include core elements relevant to all areas of Clinical Forensic Medicine including Sexual Offence, Custodial, Traffic and Paediatric Forensic Medicine. Click this link to access the curriculum handbook.
In order to support applications for selection into the program and for recognition of prior learning, prospective trainees are advised to:

Enrol in the Master of Forensic Medicine offered by Monash University and complete core units if they have not already done so.

Gain clinical experience, for example in emergency medicine, to ensure that they are competent to manage acutely ill and injured patients.

Maintain a log of relevant cases encountered in areas of clinical practice such as primary care medicine, sexual health, gynaecology, paediatrics and psychiatry.
